Saturday the 30th of August was a big day at the club!
With the day starting off with a Special General Meeting followed by our Annual General Meeting and closing with a wonderful Shades of White Winter Wonderland dinner and dance party, it was another one of those days that makes you proud to be a club member.

With good attendance at both SGM and AGM, Commodore Bruce Quayle ended off proceedings by presenting three great awards honouring outstanding members: Gunner Heiberg was offered honorary life membership of POYC for his dedicated service and support over many years (together with his famous Pirate’s Vessel Point Blank); Ed Cormac received the Commodore’s Trophy for outstanding contribution to the club for his tireless work behind the scenes, always assisting in every way possible including driving out at the most inconvenient of times to open the club to let Casper the club cat out…; and the Grootbek award (once again) went to none other than Patrick Knobel – it was kind of a given, but we think Jeff Hampton might be up for the challenge in the coming year!

The AGM also introduced the new club Committee. Congratulations to everyone serving the club for the 2026 year. The amount of effort that goes into running a smooth operation and ensuring everyone is looked after, is not easy, nor always enjoyable. The club Committee offer their time voluntarily and graciously to this task.
