During COVID in 2021, Ian Mackintosh joined SV Urchin on a mission to remove invasive mice responsible for the near-eradication of critically endangered seabirds. On 25 – 26 January 2025 the Western Cape sailing community gathered on the banks of the Berg River for the 2025 edition of the Port Owen River Race. And what a great race it was!
This past Saturday, 18 January 2025, the POYC sailors took to the water for a day sail across the St Helena bay out to Stompneus Bay where they dropped anchor and enjoyed a lovely lunch together before going out again to enjoy some really good wind and perfect sailing conditions around the Bay and back to Port Owen again.
