Thanks to all those that attended the closing cruise, either as an official, an observer or as a participant. The sail past took place in Rooibaai and the official party was on the holding jetty.
The salute was received by the Commodore, John Nosworthy, who was accompanied by his sister Dianne, and Joan du Plessis.
It was great to see 15 vessels taking part. They consisted of six Holiday 23’s, Ancient Mariner, Oran Mor, Capsicum, Joy, Seaweed and Calypso. The monohulls were Point Blank, Isabella, Bicardi Breeze and Reflexion and the cats were represented by Evensong, Rainbows End and Aquanaut. David Lane and Andrew Radnitz represented the motorised vessels and Robin Ellis brought up the rear in his 8 foot rowing boat. Thank you Robin, that was a special occasion, you standing up in your boat and saluting the Commodore.
Once all the vessels were back in their berths, the crews met for a braai at the club house. A very enjoyable evening was had by all. Thanks to Sid, Ed, Jacques, and Nev for their assistance and most importantly, thanks to everybody who took part.
